How a simple dream became a dental clinic dedicated to kids.
Growing up in Dombivli, Dr. Sayli Firke saw how children dreaded dental visits. Adults would hold their kids tight, children would cry — and dentists would rush through treatments to "get it over with."
She knew it did not have to be that way. After completing her BDS and a Fellowship in Pediatric Restorative Dentistry, she returned to Dombivli with one mission: build a clinic where every child leaves smiling.
Tulip Kids Dental was born — named after the flower that blooms gently, just like a child's confidence when they are treated with patience and care.
Every decision at Tulip Kids Dental — from how we design the waiting area to how we explain a treatment to a 5-year-old — comes back to these three beliefs.
We use the Tell-Show-Do technique. We never surprise a child. We show them every instrument, explain in simple Marathi or Hindi, and only proceed when the child is ready. Crying in our clinic is rare — and we are proud of that.
Dr. Sayli Firke's training is focused on children's dentistry, and that is the work she does every day at Tulip Kids Dental. Dr. Devendra Patil (MDS Pediatric Dentistry) adds specialist input for complex cases.
We believe parents should understand every step. Before any treatment, we explain in plain language — what the problem is, what we are doing, why, and what to expect at home. No dental jargon. No rushing. Full transparency — always.
Dr. Sayli Firke completes her Fellowship in Pediatric Restorative Dentistry and moves to working only with children.
The clinic opens at A/2, Saroj CHS, Manpada Cross Road, Dombivli East. Designed to feel warm and welcoming — not clinical and scary. Children love the colourful space immediately.
MDS in Pediatric Dentistry — a 3-year post-graduate specialist degree in children's dentistry. Dr. Devendra sees patients on Tuesday evenings and by special appointment, and handles the clinic's complex cases.
Word of mouth. Parent WhatsApp groups. Neighbour recommendations. Families from Dombivli East, West, Thane, and even Kalyan began bringing their children to us because they heard: "The kids actually like going there."
Hundreds of happy smiles later, Tulip Kids Dental continues to grow. New activity sheets, a Parent Oral Care Guide, and a Kids Zone on this website — all part of our promise to go beyond the dental chair for the children of Dombivli.
